“Mapping the fretboard” WORKSHOP

Are you feeling stuck in ruts in your guitar playing? Do you ever feel like you want to play more creative chord accompaniment but get overwhelmed by the forest of lines and dots on the fingerboard? Do you struggle just to know what to play when it’s your turn to take a solo?
I can help you.
In this 90-ish minute Zoom course, we’ll investigate together the most effective techniques that I’ve studied and developed over the years: the primary approaches that I apply -in the practice room, in the recording studio and onstage- to all styles of music I play. We will:
Get acquainted with the simple connection between our ears and our instrument that pro players cultivate
Discover the simple roadmap that demystifies the entire guitar fretboard
Dive into solidifying the fundamentals that are the bedrock of all great playing
Look at some ways to get our fingers and brain to process -and create- new ideas
Explore how to “steal” ideas from the great soloists, and how to make those ideas our own!
Dialogue is encouraged, so we’ll be sure and address any questions you bring in about where you’re feeling stuck and how to move your playing forward.
Take-home material will be provided, too, so you can continue to work on these methods in an ongoing way. My hope for you is that this workshop is just the beginning!
Note: this class will be recorded and available to watch online after the event, so you can still sign up if you can’t make it to the session, but being together is recommended!
